The interventions have led the railways to be in harmony with the city's context, as well as welcoming the passengers in an appropriate adequate environment in the town on the Adriatic coast which focuses its economy on tourists and their relevant activities.
The works consisted in the construction of a subway integrated with a complex system of side roads connected to the underpass of the station, thus taking over the public viability with the possibility of accessing the railway platforms through ramps built also respecting the law requirements for the disabled.
As far as the building of a higher platform was concerned, an experimental project was proposed using prefabricated and modular elements, so as to avoid drastic changes or too much work on existing cables and pits, with a considerable reduction in the working and finishing time of the flooring, but above all, to carry out the work without interrupting the coming and going of passengers on the platforms, and thus eliminating almost any inconveniences to passengers and trains.
