This station has a significant strategic importance because it is located on the Milan-Asso route, from which a train leaves every five minutes, with thousands of commuters moving every day to and from Milan, through the connections to Cadorna, Rho and Rogoredo.
The intervention was included in the Extraordinary Plan for the Development of the Infrastructure of Lombardy, and had as its priority aim to increase the quality and safety of the Bovisio Masciago plant.
