The intensification of the internal railway systems at the “Ancona Centrale” station was strategic because it aimed at the new railway connection to the Darsena (dock) of the Marches in the port of Ancona, with the national railway network. The aim of the project was therefore the implementation of port infrastructures, the reinforcement of the equipment installation, the signaling and the safety of the railway station in Ancona, in correspondence to the connection of the New Darsena in the port of Ancona to the railway network.
In particular, three tracks were built to connect the existing ones of Nuova Darsena to the railway station in Ancona.
In addition, works have been carried out for the full functionality of the structures used by Darsena. In particular, new railroad switches and cables were installed, the safety systems and signaling were modified: all elements that have contributed to upgrading the safety of the Central Station in Ancona.
