The Intermodal Terminal in Segrate was conceived as the sole operator of the services at the end destination (for the last mile), such as handling and maneuvering, to develop terminal services within a system that is closer to customers and their needs and offers freight operators the implementation of an integrated organizational model through the joint planning of timetables and resources.
The intervention was carried out with lifting equipment, wheeled cranes and gantry cranes, equipped with precision devices guaranteeing maximum safety conditions on all types of transport units (mobile crates, semitrailers and containers).
Furthermore, the intervention created a fire prevention network inside the terminal with its complementary technological and electromechanical systems; all this was done so that the Intermodal Terminal in Segrate was built in compliance with law standards and requirements. Of great importance was the rainwater draining system with small sized pipes with variable sections, but still suitable for a water collection of 1,200 mm/min, from very large surfaces but with sloping near 0%.
